Description

Sentosa, which means peace and tranquillity in Malay, was the location for a historic Summit between the leaders of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States of America on 12 June 2018. They met for the first time to discuss DPRK-USA relations and the building of lasting and robust peace on the Korean Peninsula. The Summit resulted in the signing of a joint statement by the two leaders.

When the two leaders appeared together in the courtyard of the Capella Singapore for their historic handshake, photographers sprang into action to capture the moment. This picture was taken by Kevin Lim from The Straits Times.
